On "Converge, Diverge, Converge": the waves on the two separate panels reflect each other, showing similar yet different parallel worlds. Three lines reach between the two sides, merging, separating, and merging again, as we do in life, creating some kind of beauty and pattern out of the chaos of nature, which is in us, too.
For "Reaching", I used hard Masonite board underneath with a wooden cradled edge. I used molding paste to create the texture underneath. I used white oil paint and a very small liner brush to create the fine white lines on the surface. This is part of a whole series I'm doing with molding paste texture, exploring different abstract patterns and natural forms.
This a 6" wide by 12" tall oil painting on wood-cradled Masonite board. It comes with a coated wire on the back, ready to hang. It was completed in late Spring of 2016.
